Astilbe, (otherwise known as False Goats Beard & False Spirea), is a genus of the Saxifragaceae family. Astilbe is native to North America and Asia.
Astilbe has tall feathery flowers, available in pink, white, red and burgundy, and diamond shaped fern like leaves.
When astilbe is used in floristry it has a beautiful softening effect and is a classic flower for use in summer months - especially when used in wedding flowers and flower arrangements.
In the wholesale flower markets cut astilbe is sold in wraps of 10 or 20 stems and is usually no taller than 60cm.

Caring for
Astilbe
To get the best from your wholesale cut astilbe please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Strip the lower foliage.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the astilbe in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the astilbe in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
