Curcuma, (otherwise known as Siam Tulips), is a genus of the Zingiberaceae family and is native to Thailand and Cambodia. Curcuma is a tropical plant, and despite its common name, is not related to the tulip.
Curcuma is closely related to different ginger varieties including turmeric. Curcuma is a beautiful indoor plant and is also sold as a cut flower.
In the wholesale flower markets curcuma is sold in wraps of 10 or 20 stems and is usually no taller than 70/80cm in height. Because Curcuma is a tropical flower it does not like the cold, so make sure you keep them warm like any other tropical flowers.

To get the best from your wholesale cut curcuma please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the curcuma in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the curcumas in a warm place and always keep out of the way of children.
