Sedums, (commonly known as Ice Plants and Stonecrops), are a genus of the Crassulaceae family and are native to the Northern Hemisphere.
Sedum leaves are able to store water, hence the thick ‘rubbery’ feel. Some varieties of sedum such as ‘prickmadam’ are often used as a salad leaf or herb in Europe.
Sedums are available in cut form on the wholesale flower markets and are sold in wraps of 10 or 20 stems. Stem lengths are usually no taller than 30cm. Sedums are a great filler and offer an unusual texture in flower arrangements and wedding flowers.

Sedums
To get the best from your wholesale cut sedums please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Strip the lower foliage from the stems.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the sedums in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the sedums in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
