Cyrtomium (Sword Fern or Ladder Fern)

Cyrtomium, (otherwise commonly known as Sword Fern & Ladder Fern), is a genus of the Dryopteridaceae family and is native to Asia and Afica.
Naturally there are between 15 and 20 species of sword fern, (cyrtomium), but only one variety is sold in the wholesale flower markets as a cut foliage for the floristry trade - this variety is known as 'Sword Fern' or 'Ladder Fern'. Cyrtomium is use extensively in wedding flowers.
Sword Fern is usually around 50 - 60cm tall, from the bottom of the stem to the lip of the leaf. It is usually wholesaled in wraps of 50 stems.

To get the best from your wholesale cut cyrtomium, (sword fern or ladder fern), please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with warm water and add flower food.
- Place the cyrtomium in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut foliage in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm some foliages). Keep the cyrtomium in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
