Papyrus (Cyperus)

Papyrus, (real name Cyperus Papyrus and otherwise known as Papyrus Sedge and Paper Reed), is a member of the Sedge family and is native to Africa.
Papyrus is a leafless aquatic plant that stands tall in shallow swamp water. Each stem is topped with a grassy clump of thin green stems that resembles a brush or feather duster.
With a long history of use by humans, papyrus was the main ingredient of papyrus paper made by the Egyptians. Parts of the papyrus can be eaten and it is also highly buoyant, making it a perfect material for making boats.
Today, Cyperus Papyrus is mainly cultivated for decorative use and is extensively sold as a cut foliage in the wholesale flower markets. It is available in wraps of 10 stems - stem lengths are usually around 75cm tall.

To get the best from your wholesale cut cyperus papyrus please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the cyperus papyrus in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
