Grevillea
Grevillea is a flowering evergreen plant native to Australia and is a genus of the Proteaceae family. Grevillea has a number of common names that include Spider Flower, Spiderman, Silky Oak, Bush Lollies and Bush Toothbrush.
Grevillea was named after Charles Francis Greville, a British antiquarian and collector.
The sweet nectar from the grevillea flower was enjoyed by Aborigines who shook out the pollen and mixed it with water. We do not recommend trying this, as many varieties of grevillea contain the toxin ‘cyanide’.
Try using grevillea in your next wedding flowers project as they can look absolutely stunning!
Grevillea is available in the wholesale flower markets as a cut flower and is sold in wraps of 10 stems. The stem length generally varies from 60cm – 80cm tall.

To get the best from your wholesale cut grevillea please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the woody stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the grevillea in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the grevillea in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
