Molucella (Bells of Ireland)
Molucella, (otherwise known as Bells of Ireland and Shell Flower, often miss spelt 'Moluccella'), is native to Turkey and Syria. Molucella is a member of the mint family and is a very popular wedding flower.
The tiny white flowers of molucella are surrounded by bell shaped green petals , (hence the name ‘Bells of Ireland’), and grow all the way up the length of a single stem.
In Victorian times molucella was the symbol of good luck.
Molucella is available as a cut flower in the wholesale flower markets and is sold in wraps of 10 stems. Stem lengths vary between 60cm and 100cm tall.

To get the best from your wholesale cut molucella please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Remove the lower foliage from the stems.
- Fill sterilised buckets with luke warm water and add flower food.
- Place the molucella in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut flowers in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm most flowers). Keep the molucella in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
