This August, our focus is the Dahlia.

Facts about Dahlia
Dahlia are native to Central America, Colombia and Mexico.
Belonging to the Asteraceae family, same as Helianthus (Sunflowers) and Chrysanthemums.
Peak season is generally July through to November, depending on the weather. They are grown indoors and outdoors. When the first frost happens, the season is over.
There are different types of Dahlia: Decorative, Waterlily, Pompom and Cactus.
Dahlias are available in the wholesale flower market as cut flowers in wraps of 10, 20 or 50 stems.
