How to Bind the Tying Point of Wedding Posy using Satin Ribbon

Easy

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Once you have made the bouquet, secure with twine or ribbon and anchor tape (or otherwise known as pot tape).

  2. Using satin ribbon (example 25mm), begin by positioning the ribbon on your tying point and hold in position with your thumb.

  3. Begin to wrap the ribbon around the tying point - making sure you pull tightly. As you bring the ribbon round, make sure you catch the loose end.
  4. Continue to bind the ribbon around the handle until you are happy with the look - approx. 3 to 4 times.

  5. Once you have finished, cut the end leaving a trail.
  6. To finish, fold the ribbon left, back on itself to disguise any rough edges and secure with pins. Push the pins into the bouquet and upwards to ensure the end of the pin is angled towards the bouquet and not at risk of hurting the bride or bridesmaids holding the bouquet.
