Hollow Stemmed Flowers

Hollow Stems. E.g. Amaryllis, Delphiniums, Aconitum, Larkspur, Lupins etc.

Step-by-step

  1. Cut stems at a 45 degree angle using a sharp knife
  2. Remove lower foliage
  3. Fill clean buckets with warm water - add flower food
  4. Turn stems upside down and fill with tepid water
  5. Hold thumb over the stem until it is placed back into a bucket of clean water (this way water is going straight into the bloom at the top of the stems (and will continue to do so as the flower drinks).
