Cycas Revoluta Palms

Cycas Revoluta Palms, (often called Sago Palms or King Sago), are native to Southern Japan. Although always referred to as a 'palm', it is not a palm at all - it is a Cyad'.

Cycas leaves are extremely symmetrical with tight clusters of glossy dark green leaves running along a central spine. The leaves are very sharp and spiteful.

Cycas Revoluta is a very popular bonsai plant but is also extremely poisonous to animals and humans. All parts of the Cycas is toxic with 'cycasin', but the seeds carry the most.

Keep the palm leaves indoors at room temperature in water.

Never leave cut foliage in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm some foliages). Keep the cycas palms in a warm place and always keep out of the way of children.
