  • Research Flower costs: Find out the average price of flowers online.
  • Prioritise the key arrangements: If your budget is limited, focus on the must-have arrangements such as the bridal bouquet and reception centrepieces.
  • Consider seasonal flowers: Choosing in-season flowers can save money whilst ensuring fresh, high-quality flowers.
  • Factor in the supplies: Do not forget to consider the costs of additional supplies for preparing, arranging and transporting the flowers such as floral foam, vases, ribbon, wires and tools.
  • DIY vs. pre-assembled: Some couples opt for pre-arranged bouquets from local florists. Concentrating on buying bulk for the venue flowers depending on skill level and logisitics.

CHOOSE THE STYLE

This is the fun part! Create a folder on your phone or computer, or a Pinterest board where you can collect photographs of colour palettes and themes that you love. They can be pictures of other Real weddings, flower arrangements, colour inspiration like dresses, vases, designs, artwork, gardens - literally whatever that makes you go "oooooh I love that!!" Your flower colours should complement your wedding theme and venue. Here are some tips on how to decide:

  • Consider the wedding colours: Match your florals with your dress, bridesmaids attire and decor.
  • Consider the venue: Rustic? Contemporary? Minimalist? Does the venue have a lot of natural light? Is it dimly lit? Consider the floor type, curtains, other arrangements amongst the venue.
  • Think about the season: Soft pastels for Spring, bold hues for Summer, warm tones for Autumn and icy whites for winter.
  • Mix and Match tones: Use a combination of primary, secondary and neutral shades to create a balanced look.
  • Use greenery:  Adding foliage can make arrangements look fuller while keeping the costs down.
