Understanding your Flower Timelines

Easy

Planning your wedding flowers is exciting, but timing is everything. Fresh flowers need proper care, and leaving arrangements to the last minute can cause unnecessary stress.

PLANNING AND PREPARE

Planning is important for every element of the wedding, especially the wedding flowers. In advance of ordering your fresh flowers, you can not only plan the flower types that you wish to buy, but you can plan everything else including:

  • Find your flower supplier
  • Purchase your floral supplies i.e. buckets, floral tape, wires, ribbons,
  • Logistics of the venue
  • Delegate help
  • Plan storage and transport
  • Make your flower checklist
  • Do a trial run

Flower Timeline

  1. Order the flowers (Option 1: Pre-curated Flower Package, or Option 2: Choose your own types) on the correct dates specified on the website. You can contact our Sales Advisors for more information on when best to order once you know the types of flowers and logistics ahead of the big day.
  2. Wednesday:

    • Make sure someone is home to accept the delivery of the flowers.
    • Unbox all the flowers and hydrate according to our Conditioning Guide and Flower Care Guides.
    • Organise your flowers into 'recipe' buckets. This is an optional step, but helps save time ptting the flowers together.
    • Allow time for the flowers to hydrate at least 4-6 hours (ideally overnight) before arranging.
  3. Thursday:

    • You can start to green up your arrangements: centrepieces.
  4. Friday:

    • Start your arrangements
    • Store in a cool, low lit environment and water accordingly.
  5. Saturday:

    • Finish off the arrangements such as adding the ribbon, create the out of water such as flower crowns and buttonholes.
    • Transport the flowers to the venue. We suggest delegating this task to a family member or friend.
    • Set it up!
    • Give yourself extra time on site!
