Basing Chrysanthemums (Double)

Double white basing chrysanthemums are generally used to create funeral tributes and are therefore conditioned
for longer than other chrysanths.

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Upon arrival, remove packaging
  2. With a sharp knife cut the bottom of the stems at a 45 degree angle (these can be cut quite short as usually the flower heads are all that are required)
  3. Fill a bucket with clean water and flower food
  4. Submerge stems into the water
  5. Ideally allow 3-4 days to condition so that the flower heads have enough time to develop fully
  6. Double Chrysanths are usually drunk for a lot longer than other cut flowers when being used for basing funeral tributes - this is so the flower heads become as large as possible - hence going further. The flower heads are then used when wide open.
