Common Problems & Solutions
Wilting Heads: Hydrangeas are incredibly thirsty. The flower heads can be revived when they wilt. Reasons for this (1) channel that takes water up blocked by air bubble (2) woody stem crushed (3) leaves draw moisture from flower. Re-cut, slit stems up and submerge wilted Hydrangea in large sink or bath of water for couple of hours or overnight.
Soft petals: Air lock in the stems, lacking water. Re-cut stems, plunge into deep water and leave to rehydrate. Keep away from direct heat sources.
Short Vase life: Often caused by lack of water, heat or dirty buckets.
Drooping after arranging: Re-cut, place in the water and allow to rehydrate before using again. In Summer months, avoid placing in situ until last minute to avoid wilting.
If you continue to experience any problems with the Hydrangea, contact the supplier for further guidance or replacement.
