Aspidistra Elatior
Aspidistra is a plant native to Asia and is commonly grown as a house plant. The common name for aspidistra is the 'cast-iron plant'.
In Japan aspidistra leaves are cut into pieces and used in Bento boxes to seperate the different kinds of food.
In the floristry industry, aspidistra leaves are used extensively - often folded or stripped and plaited in flower arrangements and wedding flowers.
Aspidistra leaves are available all year round on the wholesale flower markets and are sold in bunches of 10 stems. There are two choices of lengths - 60cm or 80cm, (measured from the bottom of the stem to the tip of the leaf). Aspidistra leaves are available in plain green or in a spotted variety called Aspidistra Milky Way.

To get the best from your wholesale cut aspidistra please read the care instructions below carefully:
- Cut the stems at a 45 degree angle with a sharp knife.
- Fill sterilised buckets with warm water and add flower food.
- Place the aspidistra in the buckets.
- Leave over night to condition before using.
Never leave cut foliage in direct sun light, near a radiator, in a draft or near fruit. (The gas used to ripen fruit will harm some foliages). Keep the aspidistra in a cool place and always keep out of the way of children.
