Christmas Long Low Arrangement with Natural Foliage and Poppy Heads

Moderate

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Soak the floral foam and condition the greenery overnight (or at least a couple of hours) before you start working with it.

  2. Start by creating an outline using the conifer supplied, making sure to include pieces throughout the composition to achieve continuity.

  3. Next, add the small leaf greenery (i.e. pistache, euc parvi) to give body to the design.

  4. Place the variegated greenery at low levels in the arrangement to give recession and colour interest to the design.

  5. Finally, use the eucalyptus to give highlights and added interest and texture to the design.

  6. Using the papaver (poppy) heads as a focal interest, place as strategically as possible to finish the design.

  7. Keep the design well watered as the foliage will require a lot of hydration, especially if positioned in a warm, domestic environment.
